Bahay Kubo - Gardens of Living Tradition - is a collaborative vision of traditional land-based education in a contemporary urban context. The project is named after a song from the Philippines that describes the seasonal cycles of a traditional crop harvest. The proposal won $10,000 from the Berkeley Food Institute to implement a community garden and launch a youth nutrition curriculum with the Filipino Advocates for Justice community youth group.
